Mossley A top Stalybridge Snooker league at halfway point
MOSSLEY ‘A’ topped the table as the Stalybridge Snooker League reached its halfway point.
In week nine, Hyde Snooker travelled to Mossley ‘B’ and St George’s and St Peter’s played a Stalybridge derby , while Mossley A were at Stalybridge Labour.
Hyde Snooker beat Mossley ‘B’ 4-1 and St George’s overcame St Peter’s by the same score. League leaders Mossley ‘A’, however, lost to Stalybridge Labour, giving them their first league win of the season.
In the whist league there were wins for Hyde Snooker and St George’s. These results meant Mossley ‘A’ still topped the snooker league, but by only one point from Hyde Snooker and Mossley ‘B’ led the cards league by three points.
At the half-way point of the season, St George’s hosted Mossley ‘A’, Hyde Snooker played St Peter’s and Mossley ‘B’ travelled to Stalybridge Labour.
This was a high-scoring week with both Mossley ‘A’ and ‘B’ winning 5-0 and Hyde Snooker 4-1.
In the whist matches there were wins for St George’s and St Peter’s. Mossley ‘A’ led the snooker league by two points and Mossley ‘B’ are only one point clear in the whist league.
Moving into the third quarter of the season, Mossley ‘B’ played Mossley ‘A’ and St George’s took on Hyde Snooker.
Mossley ‘A’ won the derby 3-2 and Hyde Snooker also triumphed 3-2.There were also card victories for Mossley ‘A’ and St George’s as Mossley ‘A’ still led the snooker league by two points and St George’s the whist league by one point, having overtaken Mossley ‘B’.
In week 12, Mossley ‘A’ played St Peter’s and Hyde Snooker Stalybridge Labour.The match between St George’s and Mossley ‘B’ was postponed until the new year.
Mossley ‘A’ beat St Peter’s 4-1, but lost the cards, and in the other match Hyde Snooker beat Stalybridge Labour 3-2 as Mossley ‘A’ led the snooker league by three points from Hyde Snooker and there is no change at the top of the whist league because both leading teams did not play.
In the last set of fixtures in 2017, Mossley ‘B’ played St Peter’s, St George’s took on Stalybridge Labour and there was a top-of-the-table clash between Hyde Snooker and Mossley ‘A’.
Mossley ‘B’ beat St Peter’s 3-2 and the cards were drawn for the second time this season. St George’s beat Stalybridge Labour and Mossley ‘A’ beat Hyde Snooker both by 3-2 And Mossley ‘A’ got the points from their card match.
