Stalybridge Snooker League Results (Week 5 & 6)
WEEK FIVE:
This week Mossley B had a week off and Hyde Snooker were at St Peters and St Georges traveled to Mossley A.
In the match at Yorkshire Ward Mossley A beat St Georges 5-0 in the snooker league but St Georges gained revenge in the whist match.
In the other match at St Peters , Hyde Snooker recorded their best result so far winning 4-1 and also got their first whist victory on the last few cards to be turned over.
At the end of the first quarter Mossley A are now 3 points clear at the head of the Snooker League from Hyde Snooker and in the whist league Mossley B are still on top leading Mossley A and St Georges by the same margin.
WEEK SIX :
At the beginning of week six we held an EGM to welcome a new team from Stalybridge Labour to our league under the captainship of Lewis Kerfoot. This means no team has any free weeks now and all first quarter matches have been forfeited 5-0 in the snooker league and as they are not entering the whist league , this will remain at five teams for all the season.
On the table Hyde Snooker beat St Georges 3-2 and Mossley A also beat Mossley B by the same score. In the first match of their league campaign Staly Labour did not get the start they wanted as they lost 4-1 to St Peters. In the whist league Mossley B and St Georges won their matches.
These results mean that Mossley A are still 3 points clear of Hyde Snooker in the Snooker League and Mossley B Still lead St Georges by the same difference in the whist league.
