Mossley teams top leagues
STALYBRIDGE Snooker League has entered the final quarter of its campaign.
The last match of 2017 saw the rearranged match between Stalybridge Labour and St Peter’s played on December 27. Labour won 3-2 recording their second league win of the season.
On January 4, St Peter’s played St George’s, Mossley ‘A’ took on Stalybridge Labour and Hyde Snooker tackled Mossley ‘B’.
In the snooker league there were wins for St George’s and Mossley ‘A’ by 3-2 and Hyde Snooker went one better beating Mossley ‘B’ 4-1 to close the gap behind Mossley ‘A’ to three points at the top of the snooker league.
In the cards league, St Peter’s and St George’s drew their match and Mossley ‘B’ beat Hyde Snooker, putting them on top of the card league by one point with a game in hand ahead of St George’s.
The matches on January 11 brought the league to the end of the third quarter of the season and Mossley ‘A’ played St George’s, St Peter’s took on Hyde Snooker and Stalybridge Labour played Mossley ‘B’.
Both Hyde Snooker and Mossley ‘A’ won 3-2 while Labour recorded their third league victory beating Mossley ‘B’ 4-1.
In the cards league there were narrow wins for Hyde Snooker and Mossley ‘A’. These results meant Mossley ‘A’ still led the snooker league by three points from Hyde Snooker, but in the card league Mossley ‘A’ have now joined Mossley ‘B’ as joint league leaders by one point ahead of St George’s.
On January 18 the final quarter of the league started with only five games. St Peter’s played Stalybridge Labour, Mossley ‘A’ and Mossley ‘B’ took on one another and Hyde Snooker should have played St George’s.
In the snooker league there were 3-2 wins for St Peter’s and Mossley ‘A’ and also a win in the cards league for Mossley ‘B’. These latest results mean that the current leagues are as below with only four games to play.
