Expansion in the frame for Stalybridge Snooker League
Hyde Snooker Club has joined the league that has expanded to five teams.
Interest in recent years has dwindled with the closure of a number of clubs in the area as membership plummeted to just four teams with its future under threat.
Attempts to recruit new teams had been unsuccessful until this year.
But league secretary Ian Hopton has seen signs of a revival and there are signs the league may possibly expand to seven or eight teams next season.
