Stalybridge Snooker League update
The 2016 /17 Stalybridge Snooker League is almost complete, with teams about to compete in their final games of the season .
The season ends with a presentation night in June. The three leagues have shown a high standard of matches and the highest breaks in the snooker part of the league is 64 by Adam Barton and the highest billiards break is 48 shared by Darran Beswick and Matt Barton.
In the main snooker and billiards league the competition has been close between Mossley B and St Peters , with the outcome going to the last match of the season which ironically was between the two teams . It was a close fought final match and although St Peters beat Mossley B , Mossley B ended up champions and St Peters finished as runners up.
In the whist league this again will go to the final match with Mossley B leading by 2 points ahead of St Georges and needing St Georges to either draw or lose their outstanding match to clinch the title outright, but if St Georges win then there would be a play off.
